What is Glitch Text?
Glitch text, also known as Zalgo text or "cursed text," is a type of digital text that has been intentionally distorted to appear corrupted, chaotic, or "hacked." This striking visual effect is achieved by excessively adding special Unicode characters called "combining diacritical marks" above, below, and through the original characters. The result is text that looks like it's glitching, vibrating, or being consumed by static.
How the Zalgo Text Generator Works
Our tool takes your normal text and injects these combining marks into it. By adjusting the "Glitch Intensity" slider, you control how many of these marks are added. A low intensity might add a subtle, flickering effect, while a high intensity will create a chaotic explosion of characters, making the text almost unreadable. This is the essence of the Zalgo meme, which is often summarized with the phrase "He comes."
How to Create Glitched Text
- Enter Your Text: Type or paste the text you want to corrupt into the input field.
- Adjust the Intensity: Use the slider to control the level of chaos. Move it to the right for a more intense glitch effect.
- Copy Your Cursed Text: The glitched text will appear in the output box below. Click the "Copy" button to save it to your clipboard.
Where Can You Use It?
Glitch text is perfect for adding a specific aesthetic to your digital content. Here are a few ideas:
- Social Media: Create spooky or edgy posts for Halloween, or just to stand out on platforms like X (Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook.
- Memes and Art: It's a popular effect in digital art and meme culture to signify chaos, horror, or corruption.
- Creative Writing: Use it in stories or poems to represent a corrupted file, a demonic voice, or a character losing their sanity.
- Gaming and Forums: Grab attention in Discord chats or forum posts with a blast of chaotic text.
A word of caution: While fun, excessive glitch text can be difficult to read and may cause performance issues on some older devices or browsers. Use it wisely!
